This opaque fluoroplastics rod is useful for machining custom components as well as applications such as insulation and etching plates. It measures 500 mm in length and 32 mm in diameter.
The rod is made from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), so it can withstand harsh work conditions. It offers extremely high chemical and radiation resistance and can operate at temperatures as high as +260°C. With excellent dielectric performance, it's an optimal insulator. It's also low-friction and low-adhesion.
Part of the RS PRO range, this fluoroplastics PTFE rod has been tested for quality and safety. It meets Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN, German Institute for Standardization) and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM-D) standards for plastic and elastomer testing. It's also rated UL 94 V-0 for flammability by the international science safety company Underwriters Laboratories.
