Made from highly durable PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), this opaque fluoroplastics rod is used in engineering and insulation applications. It's 500 mm in length with a diameter of 25 mm.
The low-friction and low-adhesion rod has a high tensile strength of 25 MPa. PTFE construction means it has excellent chemical and radiation resistance, and its dielectric properties make it useful for insulation. It can also withstand temperatures of up to +260°C, so it will hold up even under extreme conditions.
As part of the RS PRO series, this rod has been tested to ensure quality and safety. It also meets the German Institute for Standardization (Deutsches Institut für Nurmung, DIN) and American Society for Testing and Materials (AMST-D) standards for plastic and elastomer testing. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has given it a flammability rating of UL 94 V-0.
