SICK C40E Series Light Curtain Receiver, 30 mm Resolution

This light curtain is a safety sensor system intended for industrial environments to protect personnel and machinery at hazardous access points. It operates as the receiver in an optically synchronised pair and provides a protective field suitable for guarding applications with a high scanning range and Compact housing. The device includes built-in switching outputs and is designed for integration with safety switching amplifiers for controlled machine shutdown.

It provides two PNP semiconductor OSSDs that are short-circuit protected and cross-circuit monitored and can carry up to 500mA each.

Configuration is performed via a female M8 4-pin connector using dedicated configuration and diagnostic software connected to a PC.

It is rated to IP65, operates between 0°C and +55°C, and withstands 5g vibration and 10g shock per relevant standards.

Optical synchronisation is used between sender and receiver to coordinate beam timing and detection.
