The expertly designed serial adapter from StarTech offers the ability to expand on serial connection via just one USB connection. With 8x DB 9 connection points, the hub enables users to use RS232, RS422, and/or RS485 cables to transfer data. Each port boasts COM port retention to keep all values saved for quick and easy installation.

StarTech.com’s serial converter gives the user choice for what they want to connect up to their computer, as it is not limited to one serial protocol. This enables users to connect, monitor and control a variety of devices, supporting 2-wire (RS-232, RS422) and 4-wire (RS-485) operating output modes.

Built for Harsh Environments


This serial adapter converter is enclosed in a black IP30-rated all-metal chassis, designed to withstand the harsh industrial environments. It has a built-in wall-mounting bracket and includes a DIN rail mounting kit too. To prevent accidental disconnections on the included USB cable, the serial connector features screw-locking on both USB-B and host connection ends. Not only that, 15Kv of ESD protection is provided, reducing downtime where communication lines are more susceptible to sudden voltage spikes or noise emissions. This makes its reliable performance in no doubt for the mission-critical environments.
