Honeywell Snap-Action Roller-Plunger Limit Switch, 2NO/2NC, 300 V - GLE Series - GLEB24C

This limit switch from Honeywell uses a snap-action motion to trigger a change in your machine's position. It features a top roller-plunger actuator that directly controls the position upon contact with a target item, and direct-acting, NC (normally closed) contacts that open when actuated. An electrostatic, die-cast zinc epoxy coated housing is ideal for applications where a sealed system is needed. The unit is designed for easy installation and features a removable contact block for simple wiring.

How does the top roller plunger actuator work in this limit switch?

The top roller plunger is attached to the head of the limit switch. When activated via an electrical signal, it plunges down into the switch body, triggering a change in the system's state such as open/close or on/off.

Honeywell GLE Series Limit Switches

The GLE series from Honeywell forms part of the larger GLS limit switches range. GLE limit switches are compact, rugged and versatile. With a small footprint, these limit switches are ideal for applications where a limited amount of space is available. This series are construted from three-conduit rugged housing and can operate in harsh environments.

What is the difference between the GLC, GLD and GLE series?

The difference that separates the series is the housing. GLE limit switches feature 3-conduit metal housing, while the GLC series have single conduit metal housing and GLD limit switches have plastic housing.

While IEC/EN 609747-1 covers general rules relating to low voltage switchgear and controlgear, IEC/EN 60947-5-1 specifically relates to control circuit devices and switching elements. The standard monitors the characteristics of devices, the electrical and mechanical requirements and the functional requirements.

EN50047
GLC and GLD limit switches are constructed from housing that meets EN50047. EN50047 applies to position switches with an automatic return actuator. Models that meet EN50047 feature standardised characteristics and dimensions (30.5 x 31.1 x 68 mm).

IP 66
A rating of IP 66 ensures that the limit switch units are protected against dust and low-pressure jets of water.
