RS PRO Mica Heater, 1 (Dia.) x 1 mm, 100 W


These hermetically sealed heaters are a good replacement for normal mica heaters, where longevity is affected due to process leakage such as in extruders and dies. They are constructed by winding resistance wire around a formed mica sheet and can provide heating of up to +300°C.

As the heaters are encased in brass, they offer excellent mechanical strength and protection. To ensure optimum performance from these products, it's advised that you use temperature sensing and control elements with them. As part of the RS PRO series, the product is tested for quality and consistency.

The heaters are commonly used in injection moulding machines in the manufacture of plastic components, where liquid plastic may pose problems to non-sealed mica heaters. Make sure to clamp securely to the surface and provide adequate electrical, thermal and mechanical barriers to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel.
