Grey (RAL 7035) polystyrene base and transparent Polycarbonate cover with no pre-embossing and no knockouts. The Polystyrene box enclosure also includes polyurethane double membrane sealing, and polyamide 6 fibre glass reinforced cover screws. This enclosure box includes insulating plugs.

What’s the difference between a polystyrene and a polycarbonate enclosure?

Both are plastic and resistant to rust and corrosion and will not dent – unlike metal. Both at halogen free which is important to consider for applications where the possibility of fire can lead to exposure to harmful fumes.;Polystyrene is stronger than budget material like plastic, withstand knocks and has fair cable retention.;Polycarbonate is recommended for applications that may sustain heavy impact, better UV protection, resistant to temperature changes, external and internal use.

What is a Knockout?

An enclosure box with knockouts is a hole that is built into the enclosure that has covering of plastic material covering the area of the required hole. You simply break the plastic material and you have a ready-made hole for mounting.
