Fibre optic sensors from the RS PRO range can be used in a number of different industrial sensing applications to measure acceleration, mechanical strain and more. This fibre optic sensor has a fibre cable connected to a light source. The 65 mm-long cable is small enough to allow you to access hard-to-reach spaces.
Sensing distance can be set on the product so it’s suitable to use in specific scenarios such as an automotive factory or working within a computer network. It features reverse polarity, shock, overload and short-circuit protection to ensure effective and consistently high performance.
The sensor performs best between a minimum operating temperature of -10°C and a maximum operating temperature of +55°C. The transparent plastic housing also has a rating of IP65, meaning performance will not be impacted by dust or water.
