RS PRO Wrist ESD Tester

The RS PRO ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) tester can be used to test the integrity of wrist-straps, which are commonly used to protect personnel from electric shocks in ESD-protected workstations by providing a quick connection to the ground. A green "test good" LED illuminates as long as the resistance of the circuit path created by the wrist wrap on the wearer's skin is between 750 kilohms and 35 megohms. An audible alarm indicates test failure.

The portable on-demand ESD tester is powered by a 9 V battery and can be wall- or surface-mounted using the supplied hook and loop fastener. It's fitted with a low battery indicator for on-site convenience.

This compact wrist-strap tester is ideal for use in small labs or for supervisors in an EPA (ESD Protected Areas) to spot-check workers. It complies with EN 61340-5-1 which is the recognised international standard from EPAs.
