RS PRO Hand Ratcheting Crimp Tool Frame for Tubular Cable Lugs, 6 → 150mm² Wire

From RS Pro a sturdy, heavy duty but lightweight crimp ratchet tool frame with long handles for crimping terminals in areas where access is limited. This heavy duty crimp tool frame consists of two handles, one of which is movable, a ratchet mechanism and ratchet lever and handle lock cam. The dies for this tool frame must be purchased separately and are simply inserted into the pocket in the head of the tool frame by releasing a catch on the top of the tool.

The rotating ratchet is designed to hold the cable lug or terminal securely between the dies until crimping is complete. Once the ratchet lever moves to the bottom position the crimping process is complete and the die is released. This mechanism ensures that a complete crimping cycle takes place and prevents partial crimps.

The handle lock cam is designed to release or lock the handles of the tool. The locked or released position is clearly indicated by a red or yellow dot.

Importance of a High-Quality Crimp
When a crimping tool is used on a terminal up to two crimps can take place at the same time. One is the electrical connection between the conductor and terminal. The other is the insulation crimp which provides strain relief against vibration and tension. It is important that the electrical connection is gas-tight without any voids between the wire strands and the terminal. If there any voids present, then corrosion can occur causing resistance and excessive heat which damages the electrical connection. Using a good quality crimping tool will ensure that a full, gas-tight crimp is produced preventing future deterioration of the electrical connection and insulation breakage.

This is a crimping tool frame only and is designed to accept the following dies for crimping tubular cable terminals;
• Stock number 241-4726 is a crimping die for use with cable lugs with wire sizes of 6 sq mm, 10 sq mm, 70 sq mm and 95 sq mm
• Stock number 241-4732 is a crimping die for use with cable lugs with wire sizes of 16 sq mm, 25 sq mm, 35 sq mm and 50 sq mm
• Stock number 241-4748 is a crimping die for use with cable lugs with wire sizes of 120 sq mm, 150 sq mm

Not supplied with die sets, these must be ordered separately.
