Crimping pliers can be used in many applications:
- Maintenance and repair

- To maintain proper operation and long service life, shafts and other moving parts should be lubricated regularly.
- Lubrication* is recommended at least every 10,000 cycles when the tool is exposed to dirt or other contaminants.
- The setting of the crimping die ranges should also be checked. - Adjustment of the pressure setting pin is necessary when the tool preload decreases significantly.

The 'Die Set Selection Guide' table indicates compatible cable types and their 'Group number' and details of frame tool required. A small number of crimp tools have been considered to be 'dedicated' to a connector type. These tools have been incorporated with those connector ranges on respective pages, and are not included within this General Tooling Range.
