    Pluggable I/O Connectors

Pluggable I/O connectors that form part of a high-speed modular interconnection system. These pluggable connectors feature high-speed I/O interfaces that support higher data rates than those of traditional copper interfaces such as RJ45. This high data rate makes these pluggable I/O connectors suitable for use in the increasing number of applications that demand a high bandwidth.

These pluggable connectors provide a standard I/O interface in the equipment they are used in. This feature enables design flexibility by allowing the user to choose between transceiver modules and direct attach cable assemblies depending on the application.

    A range of standards are supported including;

Fibre Channel, Ethernet, InfiniBand and SAS.

    Types Of I/O Interface are:

    • SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable): supports data rates of up to 4 Gbit/s.
    • SFP+ (Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus): Supports data rates of up to 16 Gbit/s.
    • CFP (C Form-factor pluggable): Supports data rates of up to 100 Gbit/s with 10 Gbit/s per channel.
    • XFP (10 Gbit Small Form-factor Pluggable): Supports data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s.
    • QSFP (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable): Supports data rates of up to 40 Gbit/s with 10 Gbit/s per channel.
    • zQSFP+ (z-Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus): Supports data rates of more than 100 Gbit/s with 28 Gbit/s per channel

    Applications

These pluggable I/O connectors are suitable for use in applications that require a high-speed data transmissions rate.

    • Access routers and switches
    • High-end servers
    • Network hubs
    • Medical diagnostic equipment
    • cellular infrastructure.

What are pluggable IO connectors used for?

Pluggable IO connectors are designed to accelerate data transmission between separate devices. These connectors are efficient with high speed, density and flexibility.
