RS PRO Plain Nylon Threaded Rod, M6, 1m

These 1m nylon metric threaded rods are fully threaded and made of Nylon 66, with a range of thread sizes available: M3 (RS: 280363), M4 (RS: 280379), M5 (RS: 280385), M6 (RS: 280391), M8 (RS: 280408), M10 (RS: 280414) and M12 (RS: 280420). These rods are constructed to DIN975 standards.

What are they made of?

These threaded rods are made of Nylon 66, a stiff, tough, and durable polymer that provides a high mechanical strength yet remains lightweight. Nylon is also highly resistant to a lot of environmental factors, such as fuel, oil, wear, impact and fatigue, although it is not UV resistant. Nylon 66 also has a lower water absorption rate than nylon 6, as well as good electrical insulating properties, making it suitable for electrical applications.

It is important that care is taken to fasten nylon threaded rods with nylon nuts and bolts, especially in industries where low-weight components can be critical, such as automotive, marine, and construction projects.

What are they used for?
