Steel Tension Pins

Slotted Spring Tension Pins consist of a single coil of spring steel with an open slot enabling the pin to reduce in diameter as it is driven into a hole of appropriate size. A tension pin allows you to securely fix various machine parts together acting as a fastener between the parts.

Features and Benefits.

• Corrosion resistant zinc plated carbon steel.
• Suitable for use as locating dowels or retaining pins.
• Positive locking action in holes drilled to normal production tolerances.
• Supplied in packs of four different lengths.
• Each pack contains an equal quantity of each length.
• DIN Standard 1481 (ISO 8752 + only length tolerances).
• Designed for plain drilled holes.

Tension Pins Available.

• Stock number 374008, 2 mm diameter, pack of 30 x 8 mm, 30 x 12 mm, 30 x 18 mm, 30 x 20 mm.

• Stock number 374014, 2.5 mm diameter, pack of 30 x 8 mm, 30 x 12 mm, 30 x 18 mm, 30 x 20 mm.

• Stock number 374036, 3.5 mm diameter, pack of 25 x 10 mm, 25 x 16 mm,25 x 24 mm, 25 x 30 mm.

• Stock number 374042, 4 mm diameter, pack of 20 x 12 mm, 20 x 24 mm, 20 x 35 mm, 20 x 40 mm.

• Stock number 374058, 5 mm diameter, pack of 15 x 12 mm, 15 x 24 mm, 15 x 35 mm, 15 x 40 mm.

For Additional Strength.

You can add to the strength of the slotted tension pins by simply inserting a smaller diameter pin inside the outer / larger pin. You securely insert the larger pin first then insert the smaller diameter pin into the larger diameter pin. Always make sure that the slot of the smaller diameter pin is NOT in-line with the larger pin.

What is a Spring Pin?

A spring pin is also known as a Roll Pin or a Tension Pin. The pin allows you to securely fix various parts of a machine together acting as a self-retaining fastener between the parts. The diameter of the pin is larger than the diameter of the hole it will be inserted into.
