Acetal or polyacetal is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic and is a member of the family of plastics called polyoxymethylene (POM). POM-H acetal is homopolymer and is manufactured using a white DuPont Delrin resin. POM-H has a higher crystallinity than POM-C making it denser, harder and stronger with good wear resistance properties. POM-H also has good electrical insulating properties making it ideal for use in the electronics industry. These acetal plastics have good sliding properties, components made from this material slide very easily and don’t stick or lock up. This is an essential quality when this hard plastic sheet is used in delicate or fine instruments where smooth operation is essential and in gears and bearings. POM-H is classified as an engineering plastic and, due to its unique properties, has exceptional machining characteristics, high versatility and is ideal for use in a wide range of industries
