Each model has excellent protection, highlighted by their IP67 rating. Although not fully waterproof, every indicator within this range is fully protected from dust and other small particles. It can also be fully immersed in water (up to 1 m depth) for a maximum of 30 minutes. It would depend on the application as to how this feature would be used, but the LED would continue to operate smoothly if the above guidelines are followed correctly.

LED's have many benefits, the longevity and low power consumption are the main selling points of an LED. However, there are various other reasons to consider:

• Temperature - LED's give off a far cooler temperature than what an incandescent or neon light would.
• Direction - LED's will only emit light in a single direction, reducing the need for additional components, such as reflectors. Although this wouldn't apply if the LED indicator is being used as a circuit board signal.
