The Microchip PIC18F4480 series of devices offer the advantages of all PIC18 microcontrollers – namely, high computational performance at an economical price – with the addition of high-endurance, Enhanced Flash program memory. In addition to these features, this series introduces design enhancements that make these microcontrollers a logical choice for many high-performance, power sensitive applications. The PIC18F4480 devices include an internal oscillator block which generates two different clock signals

either can be used as the microcontroller’s clock source. This may eliminate the need for external oscillator circuits.
