RS PRO SP-CO Plunger Microswitch, 15 A @ 250 V AC


Microswitches are commonly used as safety devices, opening up circuits when needed to prevent a machine being turned on, for example. This plunger-operated microswitch is from our RS PRO range. It has a single-pole changeover configuration so you can use it to switch between two electrical circuits. These kinds of devices are common in the home and industrial settings.

The snap-acting switch is housed in a robust metal casing. Its M3 screw terminals are located in 3.96 mm-wide wiring channels and protected by a removable, insulated cover plate. Fine silver contacts offer excellent conductivity, while the beryllium copper trident spring operating mechanism resists corrosion.

The switch conforms to IEC 1058-1 as a safe and reliable switch. It's IP54-rated for protection against dust and accidental splashes. This kind of microswitch is commonly used as a safety switch on automatic doors or in industrial control circuits.
