3M Conductive Metallic Tape, 50mm (W) x 16m (L) - 1181 Series - T118150
This high-quality conductive tape from 3M consists of a dead-soft copper backing coated on one side with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. The copper will stand up well to oxidation and discolouration and it can be soldered to help you secure it. You can rely on the tape for high resistance to humidity, mould, UV rays and solvents. A wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +130°C makes it suitable for use in a variety of challenging industrial environments.
• Supplied on a removable liner to make it easy to handle and die-cut• Tensile strength of 44 N/cm offers flexibility of use and longevity• Can be used to make quick and easy electrical connections by taping two lengths together
Applications
• Electromagnetic or radio-electrical shielding• Grounding and EMI (electromagnetic interference) shielding in equipment• Shielded rooms
How does shielding with copper tape work?
• Designed for electromagnetic or radio-electrical shielding • Suitable for soldering • Grounding and EMI shielding in equipment • Components • Shielded room
Copper tape can be used to create a conductive and grounded enclosure, known as a Faraday cage, around sensitive electrical components. This prevents electromagnetic fields from entering the enclosed space and interfering with the components.
