IP rating classifies the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects (including body parts like hands and fingers), dust, accidental contact, and water in electrical enclosures.

One of the most important features of UL94 V2 material is the safety attribute it offers for enclosures near fire and heat. The material classification specifies that the plastic material must be self-extinguishing up to 10 seconds after flame withdrawal and have a glow time no greater than 30 seconds. Also, according to the UL94 V2 classification, it is also imperative that no flaming drops are generated.
