Looking for a compact wiring solution? These punch-down wiring boxes from the RS PRO series are well-suited for connecting Cat5e cables without losing any bandwidth. Commonly known as ethernet cables, Cat5e cables are used to connect computers to a network hub, like a router. As a result, it's important when coupling two Cat5 ends to maintain the 350 MHz speed of the cables.

These wiring boxes consist of PCB-mounted punch-down blocks which create a super-tight connection between cables. This is all held within a 25 mm wide plastic case with strain reliefs that allow flexibility in the cable. Connections are clearly marked on the case, making it easier to follow a wiring sequence. There are two easily accessible ports for a simple, straight-through connection.

These wiring boxes can be used in commercial or industrial environments where you need to join Cat5e cables. For example, if you need to extend the length of an ethernet connection.
