RS PRO 8 VA DIN Rail Mount Transformer, 230 V AC Primary 2 x, 12 V AC Secondary
Need to step a continuous power load up or down to supply control circuits, switch relays or installation contacts? This transformer from RS PRO allows you to convert 230 V AC and use it to power equipment that runs on 12 V AC.
The isolating transformer separates the electrical device from the input power supply, guarding against electric shock. A Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) resistor protects the circuitry from overloads or short-circuits, while varnish impregnation on the coils boosts their dielectric strength and protects them from humidity and rust. A three-module enclosure houses the unit securely, with integrated screw terminals providing easy installation. The transformer can withstand a maximum operating temperature of +130˚C, so you can use it in a wide range of environments.
The device conforms to ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014 and BS EN 61340-5-1:2007 Electrostatic Control Standards, which protects circuitry against harmful static discharge. Transformers of this type are also commonly used to supply power to bells, gongs and door openers.
