RS PRO, BSPT Tapered Series Compression Fitting for Use with Thermocouple or PRT Probe

Introducing the range of RS PRO high-quality brass compression fittings for attaching the probe a thermocouple or RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) securely into process fittings, like flange plates and thermowells. This compression gland also provides a quick and convenient way of securing the probe at the correct immersion depth into the process it is measuring. Thanks to the brass material, these connectors are ultra-durable and corrosion-resistant, making them ideal for a range of applications in tough environments.

A compression fitting or gland comprises of an outer compression nut and an inner compression ring or ferrule also called an ’olive’. The male thread of the fitting is screwed into the thermowell or bulkhead and the probe is then inserted into the aperture at the top of the fitting to the required length. The outer compression nut is then tightened which forces the olive to compress around the outer sheath of the probe, after which the probe is then held securely in place and a tight seal provided.
