These RS PRO patch cables, also known as Ethernet patch cables are manufactured using Category 6 cables, commonly referred to as Cat 6 Cable. They are electrical cables often used in office environments as a connector to link computers to a network hub, router or Ethernet switch.

Low Smoke Zero Halogen, commonly termed as LSZH or LSOH cables are used where smoke emission and toxic fumes could cause harm to human health, as well as to essential equipment in the event of a fire. LSZH cables have an outer sheath material which produce lower levels of smoke and toxic fumes, and no acid gases. These are particularly beneficial to personnel exiting safely during a fire, as well as increasing the safety of the firefighting operation.

They are foil twisted pairs (FTP), networking cables, which mean the copper wires are twisted together and covered with a foil shield which helps to reduce crosstalk, as well as any electromagnetic interference.

A Cat 6 cable is an abbreviation for a category 6 cable. This type of cable is a standardized twisted pair cable for Ethernet and other network physical layers.

Cat 6 cables feature more stringent specifications for cross talk and system noise.

These Category 6 cables are terminated with high grade modular plugs. The booted strain relief gives cable support and latch protection. Cat 6 100Ω FTP over moulded round patch cables which feature an AWG 26 4 pair construction. These cables have a LSZH – low smoke zero halogen jacket and are pre-terminated on both ends with an over moulded RJ45 plug. They are available in various colours and cable lengths.

When storing your Cat 6 patch cables, we advise you lightly roll your cables into a loose coil, going with the natural curve of the wire. When not in use, we suggest the cables are stored in a protective case where dust and impurities will not get into the connector ends.
