    Spill Control Equipment

Spill control equipment includes a range of simple, innovative and convenient methods for limiting the hazard posed by potential liquid, oil or chemical spillage in and around the workplace. Examples of widely used spill control equipment might include things like industrial storage boxes with built-in drip trays to contain any leakage, or neoprene/polyethylene mats, ramps and pallets for standing up to the rigours of transporting and handling goods that may be at risk of spilling.

Our range of spill control equipment is sourced from trusted names in the field of industrial chemical handling and cleanup, including Lubetech and our own in-house value brand, RS PRO.

How does spill control equipment work?

There are many different methods used by different types of spill control equipment. Some are concerned largely with collecting and containing any leaks and spills - for example, hazardous waste disposal bags - while other methods aim to minimise the impact of any spillages through their use of chemically inert materials like rubber and clay.

    • Polyethylene pallet ramps might be designed to enable the safe, quick, fast transfer of drums onto spill pallets
    • These spill pallets will, in turn, have a considerable capacity (often more than 100 litres) for containing and draining off any spilt or leaking materials into a separate compartment, drawing it away from the source of the leak and preventing it from adversely affecting barrels and drums
    • It's common for such pallets to have four-way forklift access and integral trays to catch drips from the IBC tap, with broad range chemical compatibility
    • The simple, hard-wearing industrial designs used for the majority of spill control equipment tends to be easy to clean, based on some form of non-slip platform surface and made from materials that are highly resistant to UV, oils and chemicals
